About KŌD42

KŌD42 is the solo project of Canadian metal artist Kodi Maki, blending modern metalcore, progressive metal, and cinematic atmosphere into deeply emotional stories of loss, hope, and redemption.

Music isn’t supposed to be analyzed first, It’s meant to be felt, KŌD42 exists to explore the moments that shape us—the darkness we endure, the battles we fight within ourselves, and the strength we discover when we choose to keep moving forward.

Every release is a chapter in a larger story. Through an interconnected series of albums, EPs, and visual storytelling, KŌD42 chronicles a journey from collapse and despair toward healing, purpose, and transformation. Each song stands on its own, but together they form a single evolving story about what it means to survive, rebuild, and become something stronger than before.

Musically, KŌD42 draws inspiration from the crushing weight of modern metalcore, the emotion of progressive metal, and cinematic soundscapes, combining massive guitars, soaring melodies, and intimate moments into a sound that is both heavy and honest.
